Discover the World of Backpacking

The Basic Backpacking Course for 2027 consists of seven classroom sessions, a local Day Hike, a Car Camping weekend, and two weekend Backpack Outings. The goal of the course is to prepare you to organize and lead your own backpacking trips with safety and confidence.

I decided to take this course to gain confidence in my abilities backpacking, and felt like I gained that and more along the way. The hands-on approach, as well as each person in the group sharing their knowledge and gear to try out, really made this be a sustainable approach to learning.
